God Of War 2017 Wishlist: 10 Things We Want To See

8. Thor

God Of War
Marvel

Quick, name a Norse god!

Unless you're some kind of Germanic religion hipster, you probably just thought of Thor, the hammer-wielding, humanity-defending god of lightning, strength, oak trees, storms and generally being manly.

Thor's popularity as the poster boy of Norse mythology makes it hard for the God of War reboot to ignore him, whether he's in the background, an ally of Kratos or an enemy for the Greek god-slayer to bury his axe in.

Thor has about a million stories told about his various heroic deeds, so there's no shortage of ways for him to show up. Norse myths are littered with oddities about Thor - his chariot is pulled by twin goats who he eats and resurrects whenever he fancies a snack, he dresses as the goddess Freyja to get his magical hammer back, he feasts continuously and engages in salty slanging matches with gods, giants and everyone else.

Santa Monica Studio has innumerable opportunities to include Thor without just throwing a hammer-wielding boss at Kratos. The question is not whether Thor will show up, but how.
