God Of War 2018: 9 Subtly Genius Easter Eggs You Totally Missed
3. Atreus Smash!
Thanks, no doubt, to God of War's launch being in close proximity to Marvel's star-studded Infinity War, the nod to Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet was a discovery that spread like wildfire, but there's another, more subtle Easter egg present towards the tail end of God of War that references an earlier MCU film.
Kratos and Atreus' clash with two troll-like Grendel in Tyr's Vault is prefaced by a strategy plan between father and son, a brief exchange that ends with the latter flippantly dubbing each a "puny troll" before the conflict kicks off.
Prior to the revelation that Kratos' kid is none other than Loki, Atreus' words fall on deaf ears, but post-reveal? It's a masterful reference to Loki's one-sided battle with Hulk in the original Avengers, where the Angry Green Man, bored of Loki's frailty, labels him as little more than a "puny god".
Fantastic.
