Google's GDC keynote may be the first time a gaming platform was revealed from a first-party and no games were shown. Yes it was GDC, where games rarely get revealed, but the keynote should have ended with a trailer for Google's first AAA exclusive game. That would have given the reveal the punch it needed to make it feel real and viable; a statement of intent.

Jade Raymond, founder of Ubisoft Toronto, came on stage during the keynote and stated that her team will cultivate first-party studios and partnerships with third-party studios, but that was it. That's great news but it doesn't mean much when we see no fruits of the labour.

Similarly, Google made a point of showing the GPU capabilities of Stadia, which makes it more powerful that PS4 or Xbox One X combined. Even going as far as to refer to the consoles as "previous generation". That's exciting, but once again it doesn't mean much when all we saw was a tech demo of some water.

Show us a game that utilises the insane power on hand. And if no games are ready, then this service feels like it is being rushed out the gate with no exclusive offering that makes it must-have.
