5. Keeping The FIA Online Component

GT Sport may have divided its fanbase with the switch to an online focused experience, but one thing cannot be debated. GT Sport offers the best online racing experience outside of iRacing. This is a considerable feat, especially considering that more than a decade's worth of work has gone into iRacing's online system. Keeping this high standard for GT 7 is essential in maintaining the balance and longevity of the title.

Having the FIA name attached to GT ensures credibility and accountability. Firstly, it means that the online racing experience will be free from the now infamous chaos seen on many public Forza servers. Points and penalty systems will be rigorous and correctly enforced, as the FIA's involvement would require nothing less. Secondly, the system allows drivers to develop and come through a comprehensive ranking system, ultimately seeing fair competition on all levels. With fair and enjoyable competition, players will have something to enjoy for as long as Sony supports GT 7.

It is vital for the successes of GTS to be carried over, as it bolsters the traditional GT experience with an entirely different dimension. Competition is not the only area in which the online mode would contribute. As seen with rFactor and Assetto Corsa, huge online communities for tuner cars and drifting exist. If a comprehensive vehicle customization mode is in place, a booming user community is sure to spring up around the game.
