GTA V: 4 Ways That Rockstar Can Reinvent Multiplayer
Gang Customization With the launch of GTAV, we could potentially see the launch of a new and improved Crew system. Rockstar would be able to implement a new range of options for Crew leaders to implement within their gangs. Emblems remain intact, but they add an entirely new dimension of leadership abilities that truly create a customized gang for every Crew. Leaders would be able to choose their gang's outfit guidelines. Creating a wider sense of connection between gang members besides relying solely on their emblem. This could be as vague as requiring every member to include a specific primary and secondary color as they customize their avatar, or more specific as requiring each member to wear specific pieces of clothing. Your gang leader could even span these color preferences to the vehicles you spawn or purchase, complete with Crew logo on the hood. Leaders could even limit their crew to street bikes, Harley's, skateboards, mopeds, or convertibles. The possibilities could be endless. Creating a wide variety of options to choose from for different crews would provide a deeper level of immersion into the world of GTAV. Imagine crews that require members to wear gorilla masks when roaming the online sandbox of Los Santos. Better yet, gang members roaming the streets with hockey masks and chainsaws, creating all forms of chaos. Isn't that the heart of any Grand Theft Auto title, being able to create chaos with no consequence? Weapons, weapons, weapons Having an arrange of weapons is nice, but many times it seems that sheer variety is lacking within multiplayer modes. If we are able to see a vast online free roam experience that provides gamers with a wide range of weapons and customization options will only further the potential to greatness. Max Payne 3 provides evidence that Rockstar can branch out into providing gamers with multiple ways to customize weaponry. This can be seen in weapons capable of being leveled up, and providing the option to add attachments to your favorite weapon. With these concepts in place, imagine running out on missions with your gang in order to create some revenue. These profits from each mission are split between those who were along for the ride, and allow for each player to visit an Ammu-Nation and alter their barrels, scopes, triggers, paint jobs, and more. This level of customization in multiplayer for all players would push it even further over the edge of gaming bliss. On top of this level of customization, we could have some melee weapon options. Machetes, chainsaws, bats (metal, spiked, & wooden), knuckle dusters, butcher knives, and crowbars. These would add another layer of warfare, where gangs could initiate melee carnage upon each other. Guns are great and all, but what better way to show your domination than with a few chainsaws to the face?
