GTA 6: 10 Core Innovations It Needs To Stay Interesting
6. Change The Location Altogether
Now that Rockstar have gone back through their original three locations from the first Grand Theft Auto and transferred them into multi-million dollar franchises, predicated on the locale therein being a 'living, breathing city', perhaps it's time to take the 'spirit' of the GTA series, and take it overseas, or even just to English shores. It does seem appropriate that if Rockstar are mining their original 2D works for inspiration, next up for the HD-treatment would be GTA: London, and being that Rockstar North are based in Scotland, creating a next-generation world closer to home might be right up their alley. Obviously that wouldn't be "changing altogether" as previously mentioned. Instead Rockstar could take a page out of Yakuza's book, (or a chapter from Sleeping Dogs') and set the next GTA on the other side of the world, with all the gritty, destitute-slums of any major Eastern city brought to a whole new level of immersion. Factoring in the previous point of choice and consequence, struggling to get by brings about many new dimensions when even those in charge of the game's missions are doing the same.
