GTA 6: 10 Gameplay Rumours We Hope Are True

Rockstar's next Grand Theft Auto on PS5 & Xbox Series consoles could have multiple locations?

The fact that Grand Theft Auto V will celebrate its ten-year anniversary in just two years is remarkable. Unquestionably one of the greatest games of the modern generation, the game broke new ground for not only Rockstar's production quality, but for gaming as a whole.

Rockstar's only title since, Red Dead Redemption 2, also went down a treat with fans. Released in late 2018, the gritty western sequel fell in comparison to its GTA counterpart, but remains a sensational game in its own right.

As for the Grand Theft Auto series, though - what's next?

We know that GTA 6 is in development at the time of writing, but we don't really know much about the game itself. Fan speculation has been running rampant for the past few years now, with the GTA fanbase clearly eager to get their hands on the next instalment to the franchise.

With that eagerness comes plenty of wild rumours, some of which are sure to come true. Some of the entries mentioned here would ensure the next Grand Theft Auto game becomes just as influential as its predecessor has been since its 2013 release.

For clarification, unless otherwise stated, all entries here have been pulled from a GamesRadar article that stems from a now-deleted post, courtesy of Reddit user JackOLantern1982.

10. Red Dead Redemption 2's Chapter System

Needless to say, Red Dead Redemption 2 was a roaring success for Rockstar Games, all things considered.

The story mode presented throughout that game was created in such a way that tied every loose end together without ever really dragging any specific aspect of the story out. How did they accomplish this so perfectly? The game's chapter system.

There were a total of eight chapters featured in the critically-acclaimed game, two of those being epilogues. As should be the case, the starting and finishing points for each of the chapters were placed there to create a fitting conclusion to the narrative of each specific chapter. When you moved to the next chapter, you moved to a new part of the story.

Not only should this be a feature for GTA 6, but for all of Rockstar's games going forward.

It can often feel slightly jarring skipping between canon missions, non-canon missions, Strangers and Freaks side quests, and everything else inbetween. In the case of GTA 5, you could quite easily be at an important part of the story one minute, and the next, you'll be driving a divorced father around town.

RDR 2 was the same to an extent, but there were far fewer instances in comparison to that of GTA 5. The point here? The main story has to be the focused priority throughout the game.
