GTA 6: 10 Rumours You NEED To Know
9. It Could Be On Next-Gen Consoles
Pachter is back again for this entry.
A lot of sources predict Sony's brand-spanking-new PS5 console will land at some point in 2020, possibly during the Christmas window. The Sun, meanwhile, posted a story speculating that Sony might want to get the jump on their Microsoft rivals by launching their new system during the festive run in 2019.
Take everything here with a pinch of salt. Sony's official line on the PS5 earlier this year hinted that it was around three years away. That, assuming GTA 6 did release in 2021, might still line up, but it'd be cutting it fine unless Rockstar's IP was gonna' be a launch title. A far more reasonable prediction is to guess that the PS5 will be out for a while before 6 lands.
Everything is just guess work at this point, granted, though it is intriguing to imagine that a new Grand Theft Auto game will skip the current gen. That'd mean, somehow, that Sony's PS4 only had one GTA game throughout its entire life cycle, which is madness.
