GTA 6: 10 Things Rockstar Must AVOID From Red Dead 2

4. Shortage Of Unique Set Pieces

The length of Red Dead Redemption 2 provided its fair few gunfights. This included fighting beside Native Americans and outlaws, and in one example, being able to air balloon over a prison. However, it took a decent amount of hours to progress to the more extreme set pieces this game had to offer.

Until then, you wouldn't get anything as iconic as the blizzard beginning until robbing the bank in Valentine. This left gameplay feeling samey, where it should be trying it's best to sell all the combat possibilities and interactions with surroundings to the audience.

For the majority of the game, you galloped on your horse, chatted to gang members who rode alongside you, and were tasked to collect goods or information from one place to the next. Before obtaining what's wanted, you'd have to dispatch of a sizeable militia, then scurry or hold of an attack at the mission's end.

Rinse, repeat.

For GTA 6 it would be fantastic to start on a big action set piece, like how the characters in RDR2 constantly refer to the botched robbery in Blackwater. With the vehicles, new weaponry and scaling buildings available, the potential for impressive and dynamic stages would be endless.
