You don't have to look far to see how poorly treated women have been in Rockstar's titles. Misogynistic stereotypes dominate GTA's culture, and with a leading woman yet to appear in any Rockstar title, calls for the next GTA to make amends have hotted up considerably in recent years.
According to that earlier report from The Know, it looks as though those calls haven't fallen on deaf ears. GTA VI is said to feature a playable female protagonist - although in what role or capacity is unclear - which will mark a first not just for GTA specifically, but for Rockstar Games too.
There was no mention of whether or not GTA V's multiple playable protagonists feature would return, despite it being a highlight of that title. One would hope so though, especially since the shift in different perspectives helped make Los Santos just that little bit more believable.
