GTA 6: 8 Biggest Rumours You Need To Know

1. It Could Be Taking Inspiration From Narcos

When you consider that Narcos is one of the most popular crime-themed TV shows currently going, it makes sense as to why Rockstar would be taking inspiration from it.

The show, which stars the likes of Pedro Pascal and Wagner Moura in the leading roles, has sparked a renewed interest in the US' War on Drugs. Tom Cruise's American Made also broached the subject, and with neo-westerns Sicaro and Day of the Soldado having done the same, it would appear as though the wheel of nostalgia has landed on the eighties, and on the legacy of one of its most baffling conflicts in particular.

Given how Rockstar's satire has fallen afoul of criticism in the past (and for good reason), one would hope they manage to approach the topic in a worthwhile manner. The studio's flamethrower-like approach to social commentary may have worked well enough in the past, but as they venture further into sensitive areas, a change in tone might be called for.

In any case, the fact that they could potentially be lifting ideas from these franchises in particular should be cause for excitement. Cinema and TV have inspired the best moments in GTA's history, and with these newer cinematic efforts likely to do the same, the next entry is set to be something special.
