GTA Online: 10 Reasons It Was A Huge Disappointment

1. It Feels Like A Beta Test

To be fair to Rockstar, GTA Online is an unprecedented undertaking, a hugely ambitious game that was always going to have launch hiccups due to the sheer volume of people wanting to play, and the complexity involved with keeping that world afloat. However, I can't help but think that it feels like we're playing a beta version of GTA Online, and that what the game looks like maybe 6 months from now might be closer to the vision we all had in our heads last September. As I've said, Rockstar have missed the boat for a large portion of players, but what they need to focus on is giving players more information about upcoming content rather than leaving us in the dark for weeks at a time. Communication with the user base is key, and though GTA Online's issues should be a lesson to similar future attempts, it goes without saying that Rockstar could have made this the most popular online game ever if they just had it better thought out.
