GTA Online: 10 Reasons It Was A Huge Disappointment

2. Where Are The Heists?

Easily the most anticipated feature of GTA Online ahead of release was heists, which would allow teams of players to commit elaborate robberies much like in the single player mode. This was heavily promoted in trailers prior to release, but sadly were not made available for the October 1st launch, with little indication of their due date being given beyond 2014. The heist delay disappointed many, and may well account for why GTA Online's missions seem so repetitive, because they're missing that meaty, core component. The problem is that even if the heists arrived tomorrow, the damage has already been done, with a large number of players quitting the game and likely never returning. But the reality is that the heists probably aren't returning tomorrow or any time soon, so by the time they come out, the game will be very much passe for a lot of players. If Rockstar are smart, they will want to get heists into the game within the next 6 weeks, because once big next-gen titles like Titanfall, MGS V: Ground Zeroes and Infamous: Second Son are out, their window of opportunity will be closed again until the summer (at which point people play less games anyway).
