GTA: Ranking The Soundtracks

11. Grand Theft Auto IV

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dhIyv3sK9Q It may as well be said. The soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto IV is kind of mediocre, which is why it sits at the number eleven spot. It's by far the weakest selection of music that Rockstar has ever put together. And to be completely honest, it doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the music itself - there are some genuinely good tracks in GTA IV, which would work well if paired up with another game, just not here. The problem is that it doesn't quite have the same sense of flow and connective tissue that the other games have. The other titles in the franchise let the soundtracks enhance their already established identities, acting as a sublime counterpoint to the violence at hand, whereas while the violence of the game works, the selection of the track listing for GTA IV doesn't really mesh all that well. On their own they are fine tracks and would potentially be worthy of admission into a GTA game. Just not this one.
