GTA: San Andreas - 10 Reasons It's Still The Best In The Series

7. The Easter Eggs

Rockstar are never afraid to hide references and secrets within their games and with a world as big as San Andreas, there's plenty of places to hide something in plain sight. A great example is the famous "There are no easter eggs up here. Go away." sign that sits atop the Gant Bridge; it's well worth grabbing the jetpack and flying over to take a look for yourself. There's plenty of other great easter eggs in the game too, like the references to previous games found almost everywhere. The main character of Grand Theft Auto III, Claude, appears as a racing rival (in keeping with his character, he remains silent) in a mission that almost serves as a prequel to his game. Mini figures of Vice City and Manhunt characters also appear in Zero's RC Shop for the observant player to take a look at. Rockstar weren't afraid of taking shots at their rivals either. True Crime: Streets Of LA is parodied on several billboards with adverts for "True Grime: Street Cleaners". Driver 3 also gets a kicking; a guard in the mission Madd Dogg's Rhymes will be playing a video game and remarks: "This sucks. I mean, how could Refractions mess up so bad? Tanner, you suck ass." Reflections were the development team behind Driver 3 and Tanner is the main character of the series; clearly Rockstar enjoyed seeing the game receive incredibly negative feedback.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
