GTA Trilogy Remake - Every Gameplay Detail You Need To Know

7. Overhauled Effects And Details For Every City

GTA 3 definitive edition
Rockstar

Though nowhere near as flashy as Rockstar's latest releases, they've visibly gone in-depth to bring out the detail in your surroundings through all three games.

Rockstar's official line on the change states that nearly everything - characters, weapons, vehicles, and roads to name but a few - feature "higher-resolution textures", whereas the water and trees have also been updated so that they don't look out of date.

Really, the trees were the clearest of the changes made to the in-game world. A Vice City comparison shot early on shows far more life to them, with the days of oddly stiff branches now gone in favour of them flowing naturally in the breeze. These little details give it more of a Grand Theft Auto V feel, while still maintaining that retro feel.

The colour of the buildings stands out also, with the pinks and yellows being particularly eye-catching. In the taller buildings, there's more detail than originally; there's grass flowing over the edge of the balconies, while the actual shape of the building is more prominent, too.

Again, these are changes to be expected when remastering an open-world game, but seeing it come to life is mesmerising. The aforementioned comparison works perfectly to exemplify that.
