8. The Truth

Mention San Andreas in a conversation with anyone who is a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series and it won't be long before the conversation turns towards the drug-addled hippie, The Truth, and his role within the game. A classic conspiracy theorist, The Truth grows his own weed and owns a Van which he has dubbed The Mothership, although he occasionally references his preferred form of travel, his Astral Goat, Herbie. The Truth gives CJ some of the best game moments in San Andreas, including the theft of a Combine Harvester after their first meeting (Which can then be used to kill multiple enemies as you make your escape) and a mission in which CJ is tasked with destroying The Truth's weed farm with a flamethrower (a mission so great that it's concept is still being used in game's today, most notably the recent Far Cry 3). But The Truth's shining moment is when he asks CJ to infiltrate Area 69 and steal a secret project, which turns out to be a Jetpack. Piloting the Jetpack for the first time as you flee Area 69 was one of my favourite gaming moments not just in San Andreas, but of all time, then using it to steal the mysterious Green Goo from a moving train during the next mission made it even more exciting. The Truth definitely survives the events of San Andreas and so it is likely he could make a return to the series in GTA V, maybe in order to help the protagonist's "beat the system", something that he is grateful to CJ for accomplishing after he and Sweet manage to kill Tenpenny once and for all. I would definitely love to see more of his crazy ramblings and missions.
