Animal rights is an issue that is very important, and a lot of animal welfare groups do an amazing job to stop unnecessary cruelty, but for every group that does a good job, there is another that does the cause a disservice. "In Defense Of Animals" is one such group. Taking objection to the option to run over or hunt fake animals in GTA V, Jack Carone from "In Defense Of Animals" called for a boycott of the game. He told
TMZ;
"Grand Theft Auto V" crossed the line by allowing game-playing children to run over, behead and kill animals
He added that GTA V promotes;
''institutionalized violence against helpless animals. The makers of this game have traded decency for money" "Encouraging the darkest impulses of young people is not an admirable pursuit. For what it's worth ... the ability to kill animals in the game is not a new feature ... and animal violence has been included in every game. Regardless ... animals don't need any more targets painted on them in the name of fun."
Rockstar wasnt bothered too much by the boycott called and accused "In Defense Of Animals" of using GTA to build a name for themselves.
