R* have been unbelievably clever with their marketing campaign. Imagine if you will a trail of candy leading into an oven. Theyll release a screenshot here, a screenshot there, a tidbit here, a tidbit there; all of which, in my opinion, excites the natural collector in us all to follow, determined to be one of the first to know when an important detail is made available. As were drip fed each new piece of info, the game journos pick up on it, write about it, you read about it, you share the information on your facebook, your friends share it, their friends share it and so on. And by the time the rumour mill has just started to slow, R* release the next little nugget of information. Lather, rinse, repeat. Its an ingenius marketing strategy by Rockstar, and undoubtedly one of the many reasons for GTA Vs unprecedented hype.
