GTA V: 10 Reasons Why It Might Not Be Awesome

1. It's Current Gen

So much has been made about the Xbox One and the PS4 since their unveilings and I'm certainly not going to pass any judgement on them here. What I am going to cover is how their imminent release could seriously hurt the longevity of GTA V, a game that is coming out only on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Now the advantages of this are clear. It allows GTA V to come out ahead of the intensely over saturated Christmas season and maximises the audience for a game that will define the end of a generation. However, in not offering a next gen option (and as we already know, you can't play previous generation games on either of the major new consoles), the question looms heavy; will people stop playing once the new generation arrives?

I€™m unsure of the answer, but wouldn't be surprised if multiplayer dips soon after the new generation's release and sales to plummet come the new year. Rockstar supremo Dan Houser, of course, disagrees; €œAll the best games for a console come out at the end of the lifecycle, right?€. We'll have the wait and see until September, but with gamers less reserved in purchases than in the past, will the quality of GTA V actually affect how well it sells?

Are you wary what Rockstar are going to put out with GTA V? Or do you remain excited because more GTA can never be bad? Let us know in the comments below.
