9. Playable Ex-Protagonists
Admittedly the only source for this rumour is wanton online fan speculation aided by some potentially familiar character design in the marketing material. Then again, with R*, potentially anything is possible. The basic theory is that the protagonists from old GTA games Claude, Tommy Vercetti, CJ and Niko Bellic will be making a return for GTA V, and whats more, Ive heard this theory linked to the greater multiplayer focus insofar as that the old protagonists will be playable as part of the co-op campaign. Admittedly, this probably cant be the case as if Niko is aged and bloated in one screenshot, how can CJ look as fresh as he ever did in another given the timelines? In my opinion, this is wishful thinking, connections made without the proper consideration to logic. But hey, regaining control of some of our favourite GTA protagonists from yesteryear? Sounds awesome to me.
