3. The Crusher
The Crusher was a side quest that allowed the player to find and then, well, crush cars and other vehicles in Liberty City's Harwood junkyard and was a side venture that enjoyed perhaps the most limited of appearances of all the quests listed here. It first featured in GTA 2, and then Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Advance and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, never to be seen again thereafter. For finding and crushing vehicles, the player would be rewarded with cash and even certain perks in earlier iterations of the series such as weapons and health boosts. The Junkyard Crusher even extended to missions at times, in particular the "Dead Skunk In The Trunk" quest found in GTA III that required Claude to "dispose" of a Forelli gang member's corpse by way of stuffing it into a car boot before dropping it into the crusher. IN V, the crusher could potentially evolve into a strand of side quests whereby the player has to dispose of bodies before the police arrive, and for those of us who love said mafia-based criminality, this could be a fun feature.
