GTA V: 5 Things That Must Be Included

3. A Beautiful Detailed City

The trick with creating a gorgeous city in GTA is to keep it small and incredibly detailed. One of the reasons San Andreas was not quite as good as GTA IV was that it was just so vast. The best thing about GTA IV was the allure of exploring the entire city. The levels were designed in such a way that we were enticed to look across the bridge at the imposing skyscrapers in the financial district. It invokes in the player a sense of €˜the grass being greener€€™ This is lost in an enormous environment where you never quite feel you€™re finished with the previous section before the game forces you to move on. One of the strengths of GTA IV was that it really encouraged the player to explore the world that they have created through its gameplay. The radio stations you can toggle through, the random encounters with people in the street, and the phone you€™re given all link the player to an experience of the city. Taking your cousin bowling is an experience of reality that I found most welcome in a game so gritty in its depiction of gangland violence.
