GTA V: 5 Ways To Improve Combat

3. Aiming and Shooting

It would certainly help if Rockstar "borrowed" some controls from Max Payne 3. The aiming felt precise and tight yet allowed the character to turn in full circles without having to pull the camera. The slow sensitivity of GTA 4 was one of its big problems, and if someone shot you from behind it took far too long to turn around and return the favour. Max Payne 3 allows you to turn around in matter of milliseconds and defend yourself. Also, GTA games seem to continue using a lock-on auto targeting system, and sometimes it got really irritating. The game should only lock on in close proximity, similar to aim assist from Call of Duty or soft lock from MP3. A system like this gives players enough breathing room yet still lets people lock on effectively.
