GTA V: 7 Signs It Will Be Rockstar's Masterpiece (So Far)

2. Combat

GTA V Cycling through weapons during a shootout was never fun, and while GTA 4 improved on this the system still was not quite where it should ideally be. Max Payne 3 remedied this in 2012 boasting a user friendly accessible weapon wheel interface. Instead of reworking GTA further Rockstar smartly just pasted it into GTA V. Furthermore, the actual aiming and cover system also look directly taken from Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption with possible tweaks. There may not be any slow motion bullet time but if you are familiar with Max Payne 3 you should feel at home here. It also appears that lock-on aiming is still present for more casual gamers. Melee combat is also supposedly more advanced possibly taking cues from Bully and The Warriors while looking at other highly successful titles including Naughty Dog€™s Uncharted franchise. There also appear to be numerous cinematic movie like moments (shootouts while rappelling from towering buildings). The protagonist switching mechanic will most likely provide even more absurd yet freakishly awesome stylized Hollywood film action sequences; something Max Payne 3 excelled at to undeniably impressive heights. The Euphoria physics engine from GTA 4 which provided some of the most strikingly realistic ragdoll physics in gaming has also been improved presenting even more lively animations.
