GTA V Gameplay Trailer: 10 Things We Learned

9. Character Stats

GTA V One of the most lamented features of GTA IV was that it got rid of the extremely popular character stats that first appeared in GTA: San Andreas, but low and behold, GTA V has appeared with its own set of statistics. Though I for one hope that the hunger/fat system doesn't re-appear - micro-management is no fun - it seems that each of the game's main abilities, from stamina, to shooting, strength, stealth, flying, driving and lung capacity, has a meter that will presumably go up or down depending on how much you use it. There's also a "special" meter, though no indication yet as to what that might mean (perhaps one attribute can be dual-expanded?). We have yet to see exactly how these are implemented, though it adds another strategic layer to the game; if one of your characters is better at shooting, then it makes sense for him to take the bulk of the action, while another character might be better suited for playing the getaway driver.
