GTA V Gameplay Trailer: 10 Things We Learned

4. Lock-On Aiming

GTA V When press were recently shown a preview build of the game, it was remarked that, much like the previous game, GTA V has a series of aiming methods to choose from, including 100% free-aim, to a lock-on mechanic for less-skilled players, allowing them to select a combatant to slaughter at will. In the trailer, the player appears to be using lock-on to systematically take down a fleet of baddies, with the narrator suggesting that this is in order to make the game more fluid and accessible, while players who fancy a bit more of a challenge are welcome to use the free-aim option. Though some players might have been hoping the game had been "de-casualised" with free-aim only being an option, it seems to be a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", given that these games are, of course, aimed at casual player as much as hardcores.
