10. Muggers
There's nothing quite like the thrill of knocking over your first store, or stealing, and repainting a new car: the police will give chase, you will escape (hopefully) and you can crow about it to anyone who will listen. But then, with your pockets full of cash, you'll probably find yourself confronted by another player, or a group of players, opportunistically beating you senseless and taking all of your hard-earned, or at least ill-gotten money and leaving you in a heap on the floor. If you didn't have the quick reactions to bank that cash, you'll now be left penniless and humiliated, respawning back into a cruel world that will probably rob and beat you again within minutes. This of course can also happen while you're walking down the street minding your own business: other players can and will end you for your money, or your flashy car, or both, and you need to be especially careful of answering your phone in public, especially if it's a mission, as the cut scene will basically make you easy prey for anyone looking to get rich quick. The worst lot are those who hang around robbery locations and pick off other players in the vicinity, fully aware that their pockets could well be stuffed with lovely cash.
Tip To Avoid Don't keep any cash on you - store it immediately - and never, EVER use ATMs, because no matter how many times they're reported for being heinous douches, other players will still watch out for anyone making withdrawals as an easy mark. Just don't do their job for them. And it's probably best to simply run over anyone who even looks slightly like they might be considering robbing you. Driving like a maniac is not entirely to be encouraged, if you want to keep your best car, and your life, and hide away from police attention, but death is far more glorious than the ignominy of being stuck up for your money and car.
