GTA V Trailers: 10 Big Things You Might Have Missed

9. Co-Op Emphasis

You may have heard already that with GTA V, R* promises a revolutionary multiplayer experience. While you've always got to be careful when a publisher's PR dept. comes out with words like "revolutionary" when describing upcoming titles; it might well be complete and utter bulls**t uttered only to shift more units. But seeing as it's coming from R* - a video game company I intrinsically trust - I might be inclined to believe it. The above shot is taken from GTA V's second trailer and features one of the six playable heist missions, which were revealed in GameInformer's cover issue. However, you'll notice that there are three masked characters, almost certainly Michael, Trevor and Franklin and that they appear to be working together as a team. We know we'll be able to switch control between each of these characters, but with R* hinting at a heavy multiplayer emphasis, I can't help but imagine we'll also be able to enter into this type of combat situation with two real-life buddies in tow, via online co-op. Can you imagine how awesome that would be? Again, R*, the tight-lipped devils they are, have kept fairly quiet about what they mean by 'revolutionary' but looking at the above shot, I'd say if they weren't pushing co-op combat as a main feature, they're bordering on false advertising.
