Yes, having to fill up your tank or risk having your car clunk out might be considered a nuisance for some, but for me it adds another element of urgency to an already frenetic gaming experience. Its been reported that it takes nearly fifteen minutes (in real time) to drive from one end of GTA V to the other. In GTA time that would be hours, and we all know you cant drive most cars for more than a few hours before youll have to consider stopping at a gas station to refuel. In the midst of a police chase, youll have to ditch your car and grab another if the tank goes empty. Exotic sports cars will need to refuel more frequently, while something like the gas-electric hybrid Dilettante can get you all the way from one end to the other on a full tank - albeit slowly. It wouldnt be necessary to stop too frequently - one tank could easily get you through two or three short distance missions before youd even have to think about filling up. Most of the time you dont even have the same car for that length of time, so refilling wouldnt be something that youd really ever do that often. And, of course, stashing a car at your safehouse would automatically fill up the tank.
