GTA VI: 10 Huge Rumours You’re Not Supposed To Know

5. The New Game Engine Will Have Destructible Scenery

Considering it's one of the most forward-thinking series in the world, it's a little surprising that GTA's never featured much by way of destructible environments. Sure, making the city a playground made of flimsy matchsticks structures a la Just Cause would be a bit excessive, but the grapevine is suggesting that we could see some destructiveness introduced come GTA VI. This would expand the scope of missions available to the player too. GTA missions tend to be quite predictable ('go here, drive there, retrieve these drugs, kill that person'), and including missions that require you to blow up buildings, drive cars through houses, or knock down cranes with bulldozers would fit the crime theme of the series as well as diversify the gameplay. GTA VI will need a defining technical feature to make it stand out from itse predecessors. GTA III brought the series into the 3D realm, GTA IV revamped the graphics and physics, GTA V featured all that and more in one of the biggest, richest game worlds ever seen. A degree of destructibility would announce to the world that GTA VI is truly a game that wouldn't have been possible in the previous generation.
