Before you set ablaze the comments section, this entry isn't just talking about the number of different guns in the game. Yes, GTA V has a wealth of different weapons readily available at any well-stocked Ammu-Nation. If your heart's itching for a pink sawed-off shotgun with a flashlight attachment then you'll be in luck, as there are a many guns that are extensively customisable. But the problem about basing an arsenal around alterations of the same basic weapon types leads to a lack of distinction - is it really exciting to have every machine gun fire like a re-skinned AK? Instead of giving players 10 different assault rifles to use over hundreds of hours, Rockstar should have the confidence going forward to create innovative and unique weapons or gadgets that haven't yet been seen in a GTA game. That's not to say they need to aim for Saints Row-levels of wacky weaponry, but there's definitely a way they could come up with some novel, fun and unconventional weapons and gadgets without sacrificing the grounded tone GTA games tend to lean towards. Come on guys, San Andreas had jetpacks and that was 10 years ago.
