While perhaps not an obvious must-have gameplay addition, using real time destruction in whatever sandbox GTA decides to set its next playground in would do wonders for increasing the level of player immersion. Rockstar don't have to aim for Battlefield heights of destructibility, instead smaller but more richly detailed effects will be essential in consolidating the reality of the the next GTA. How many times have you been gliding down the streets of Los Santos, turned into the next lane in a drift that would make The Fast and Furious series regulars jealous only to suddenly have your car cave in on itself after hitting the corner of a hedge? Small details like this completely tear away at the engrossing addictiveness the game otherwise effortlessly builds up until that point. So please GTA VI, you don't have to let players level buildings or wipe out the bridges connecting one city to the next, just please stop making your smallest walls out of adamantium - they don't agree with the backsides of our favourite cars.
