GTA VI: 10 Mission Types That Need To Die

5. 'I Spy'

More prevalent in the recent titles of the series, Grand Theft Auto games take very good advantage of modern technological advantages to equip their protagonists with gadgets. From internet cafes to hi-tech phones, the game lets players take advantage of all of the same time-wasting tools that they have in the real world. From cameras in GTA 3 through to the camera phones in GTA V, Rockstar have continuously attempted to find good use for these gadgets within the game's story missions. Despite a few interesting successes, these unfortunately most often fall into a paparazzi style spy mission that makes use of little more than the camera of whatever handheld any particular protagonist is equipped with in a given title. These missions generally become nothing more advanced than following some more sap to a location he shouldn't be at, photographing his clandestine activities and providing your temporary employer with this evidence for blackmail fodder. Generally these missions serve little purpose other than to introduce players to a new contact but, seeing how accomplished Rockstar are at weaving narrative yarns, such an un-inventive introduction could surely be cut loose.
