3. A New Time Period
Throughout Grand Theft Auto's run, Rockstar have transported us to 1986 in Vice City, 1992 in GTA San Andreas, 2001 in GTA III, and, with the last two instalments in the series, IV and V, to the modern day. GTA London has also sent us back to the early and late 1960s with Grand Theft Auto: London, 1969 and Grand Theft Auto: London, 1961, with Rockstar covering plenty of styles, themes and events down the years. In GTA VI, we'd like to see a new time period - one that isn't set in the modern day, for the last two games have done that. We'd either like to go back in time or forwards - a sci-fi based GTA certainly sounds intriguing at any rate. By setting GTA in the future, Rockstar would be able to use their trademark wit to lampoon the state of affairs in the US and other places, while the addition of futuristic vehicles and weapons sounds fun.
