If there's one area in which the GTA games are actually pretty lacking, it's the incidence of random scripted events taking place as you prowl through the cities, such as sudden carjackings, robberies on the street, natural disasters and so on, which might make the player divert from their mission at hand. Though in its defense, GTA V does boast close to 60 random events, this just isn't really enough when you consider how many hours most players sink into the game, and how infrequently they stumble across these incidents. In fact, it's perfectly possible to go the entire length of the campaign with only coming across a couple, which is a shame. It would be a mistake to make these random events too obvious, but at the same time, giving players interesting events to simply observe without needing to necessarily interact would be a fun way to add even more attention-to-detail to the games.
