Excluding the spin-off titles, none of the core GTA games have allowed players to continue the adventures of a previous protagonist, which is a shame given how awesome the likes of Tommy, CJ, Niko, Michael, Trevor and Franklin all are (though the less said about Claude, the better). With the series' new multi-protagonist system (which will presumably continue through forever more), there's no harm in leaving one slot open for a classic character, and if Rockstar returns to Vice City, then the choice is obvious. It has to be Tommy Vercetti. Quite possibly the most likeable of all the GTA protagonists to date (no doubt aided by Ray Liotta's excellent voice performance), it'd be great to see how kind (or not) the years have been to Tommy, especially if Liotta can be convinced to reprise his role.
