11. More Detailed Gore
What Fans Want: When you cap a guy in the head, wouldn't it be extra-awesome to see the brains fly out and land on the pavement? And if you shotgun a guy in the leg, what's stopping it from just detaching completely? From Soldier of Fortune to Rockstar's own Max Payne series, plenty of games have had this nailed down for years, so why not GTA? Why It Won't Happen: The series already courts enough controversy as it is, and given that the game appeals to a pretty broad base of users, there's the potential to make the game more nauseating than entertaining to play. Sure, Rockstar could just implement the option to toggle extreme gore on and off, but given the success of the current model of violence, it's still a potentially alienating risk, and will just add more design hours to a game already totally awash in them.
