Guild Wars 2: 10 Reasons to Be Excited

2. The Guild Interface A game called 'Guild Wars 2' just wouldn't be complete if it didn't put a hefty focus on how players group up into communities in the game. And just like with the World versus World component, it's hard to imagine how anyone could design a more perfect guild system than the one they've crafted for Guild Wars 2. Guild leaders have complete control over the formulation of their guild, from the emblem that adorns the guild's flag and armor and weapons, to the number, names, icons, and functions of the ranks within the guild. Do you want your guild's chief officer to by called the "Grand Poobah"? Done! Do you want all of your rifles stamped with the symbol of two snakes crossed? Done! You can build the exact organization you want to build. There are also a large number of upgrades that a guild can purchase with a resource called 'Influence'. And the best part about this influence is that it can be earned by doing pretty much anything! Does your guild work together conquering castles in World versus World? That earns you influence! Is your guild more of an adventuring group that likes to work together to experience all of the game's story content? Guess what? That earns you influence! You don't have to be some hard-core PvP'er to have a really snazzy guild. You earn points to buy neat guild stuff just through playing the game, and that's how it should be. The guild menu itself also very handily brings together a whole host of information about the people in your group, from their names, online status, and current character being played, to what crafting disciplines they are good at and what awards they have won. Would you like to find someone to craft for you that perfect sword you saw the other day? Just check the guild screen and see if any of your guildies have that skill!
