4. Control Of Enemy Vehicles
Love them or hate them, the vehicle sections of Half Life 2 were a huge part of the game. Water skiing on the Airboat is fun and all, but our pride is soon hurt when the Combine's Hunter-Chopper looms over us dropping superior firepower and generally being more badass. No one's questioning that this tactic generates good gameplay difficulty, but imagine if the tables were turned. Imagine firing down a rally of jet skiing Combine enemies high above in your armoured and gun-mounted helicopter. Yeah. It'd be like killing relatively speedy fish with...er...some sort of massive arsenal of weaponry (I'm no good at metaphors). Okay let's take it a step further. Remember the Striders? For those who can't be bothered to do a quick Google search (really guys??), they were the lofty War Of The Worlds-style creatures that gave you neck pain just looking at them. While they seem to operate independently without a pilot, there are mods available that let you mount one and take control. While it could be tricky to get close enough to one to be able to do so (unless you can somehow drop down onto one from a Hunter-Chopper. Now that's using your Schwarzenegger noodle), imagine the overwhelming power you'd feel when piloting a Strider. You'll show those PE teachers in school who said you were a wimp. You'll show them all!
