Halo 4: 10 Reasons It's The Best Halo Yet

8. More Challenging Single-Player

One niggle about previous Halo games is that we've been able to coast through the single-player in a good 6-8 hours, even on the higher difficulties. However, Halo 4 ramps the challenge up considerably, giving even seasoned players a run for their money on Normal difficulty, let alone Heroic or Legendary. What's most apparent barely half an hour into the game is the pronounced scarcity of ammo; you will have to forage around the map to restock your weapon, and quite often you'll likely find yourself having to resort to melee combat just to stay alive. As a result, you're likely to die a lot more than you would expect in the first hour-or-so of play, and the fact that the AI is fiendishly clever this time around - not ducking out of cover unnecessarily, and seeming to communicate - is a testament to the time 343 have spent perfecting it. Play this on higher difficulties and you're going to have a Hell of a time.
