2. Spartan Ops
Spartan Ops is one of the coolest ideas I've seen for a game in a while. Each week, a new episode of a video series is released, along with 5 missions that are connected in story and premise. It hasn't been announced how many packs will be released, but rest assured this will add many hours of new content into the game. The best part? All the missions are free. Free DLC is always nice, be it a mission or something small like a new weapon. Spartan Ops mode also replaces Firefight mode from Reach and ODST, and will take place 6 months after the campaign. The new videos and missions drive the story forward, and allow us to experience even more from an already story rich game. We've never seen expansion like this before. Sure, there is free Mass Effect 3 DLC, but it has no story. There have been free missions for other games before, but none tie into the story like this. It's great to see how Microsoft and 343i has thought out about how to expand the game, in a meaningful way. Past Halo DLC has been just maps, and while maps are always good, it's hard to justify spending 15 dollars on some new battlegrounds when there is so much more that can be done.
