3. Establish & Play Your Class - You Don't Always Have To Kill
Introduced in Halo Reach, Loadouts encouraged you to really think about your tactics before dropping into a match, which in Guardians has been replaced either in Arena as starting with the same Assault Rifle/Pistol combo as everyone else, or in Warzone, burning your REQ cards to change what you spawn with next time round. That means you've got to sort your class out in your head, opening up the possibility that you don't actually have to go for constant kills - instead, play to the game mode itself. Branch off from storming a base near the close of Warzone to track down some AI kills for valuable VP points that might help you win the match, go off the beaten path to grab the flag once you have a feel for which direction people are heading in CTF - if the game is going to be won on an objective, complete that and put the killing of enemies as second on your list of priorities.
