Halo Infinite: 10 Ways To Save The Franchise

1. Bring Back The Flood

The Halo games have always been defined not just by the weapons and sandbox elements that you have access to, but also the enemies that you fight. The primary enemy, the Covenant, are great fun to battle against.

Each Covenant enemy type is unique, and offers up something on the battlefield that its bothers did not. The grunts are weak and will run at the first chance they get, while the elites are strong and will take defensive measures against you if they have to. Its great design.

This is where the 343 games stumble. The Covenant are there, but they are not supplemented properly. The Prometheans, the other enemy type 343 introduced, offer nothing new to the sandbox other than annoyance.

The clear solution to this problem is to bring back one of Halo's most iconic enemies in Infinite - the Flood. They are the perfect counterbalance to the Covenant as they are their opposite. They care little for tactics, and will charge you head on - a nice change of pace from the other enemies.

They have been missing from the first person Halo games for over a decade. It's time they made a comeback.
