Halo: Master Chief Collection - 10 Issues 343 STILL Need To Fix

7. A Progression/Experience System

Just like avatar customisation, progression systems are a huge part of modern games and, once again, Halo did help to set the standard in this area. Halo 3's second major title update added in an experience-based ranking system for players to track their progress in individual playlists, with subsequent Halo games building on this idea.

Unfortunately, progression hasn't really been a part of the MCC, and this is another issue that fans have been complaining about for several years now.

Having a little symbol next to your name and earning experience points might not have any immediate effect on how the game plays, but it gives people a reason to keep coming back and offers a much-needed sense of satisfaction that many modern gamers crave.

The system introduced in Halo: Reach, which offered credits and points for every activity completed in game, including multiplayer, campaign, firefight, and even forge mode, would be a nice addition to the MCC and is one simple way 343 could encourage new and old players alike to stick with the game for the long-term.
