HBO's The Last Of Us - 5 PERFECT Actors For Joel & Ellie

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is yet another HBO veteran who would make a nice fit for the series.

In the immediate aftermath of the announcement of the HBO series, he became one half of a widely-circulated fan casting (the other half of which we'll discuss later), one that people latched onto pretty quickly.

There's a good reason for that. The man LOOKS like Joel. Not only does he have the looks, though, but he's an immensely powerful, charismatic actor, as anyone who watched Game of Thrones can tell you.

As Jaime Lannister, Coster-Waldau brought to life a man who, at first, seemed like nothing more than an irredeemable lowlife, with nothing but his own interests at heart.

Over the course of his journey however, we were slowly exposed to a fascinatingly complex character -- a driven, determined man at war with his own moral dubiousness. By the end of the series, we got to witness one of the best -- if not THE best -- redemption arcs in TV history, even though the showrunners fumbled it something spectacular at the end.

Here's hoping he can bring that same moral ambiguity and grizzled, endearing likability to Joel.
