Potentially a glitch, but I think it's more of an exploit, the coin can be used to siphon off any given NPC from a group, providing you get the timing right. See, say there's someone - or a group of people - on the other side of a given door, one of which you'd like to take out or steal the clothes of. First, open said door and quickly back away and to the side to avoid being seen. Then, flip the coin onto the floor on your side, and get out of sight. The character nearest will come through the door (their curiosity denoted by a white outline around their map icon) which will then close itself after a couple of seconds, leaving the person to pick up the coin - and you in there with them. Once they've turned around, get up close and do your worst, before taking their outfit and stashing the body somewhere appropriate. From there, you're free to walk back out to whichever group of people the individual initially left, and the best part? They'll talk to you as if you never left.
