Hitman 2016: 10 Signs It'll Make The Series Great Again

8. Some A.I. Characters Will Notice Your Barcode Tattoo

One strange feature that has kind of come to be accepted as 'just the way things are' in the world of Hitman is that conspicuous barcode tattooed on the back of 47's head. It's always facing the player, and yet NPCs seem completely oblivious to it. It's almost as if it's mocking the player, saying "You can see me, but no one else can!" Well, now NPCs won't just be a see of uniformly oblivious fools. Some will be more observant than others and will rightfully guess that a big dude with a barcode tattoo is maybe worth keeping an eye on. This is a great addition to the game, because you'll no longer be able to assume that each NPC is just as unperceptive as the next one. Some characters - such as the the target's head of security in the Showstopper mission - will be able to see through any disguise. Other characters, called 'Enforcers', will be able to see through specific disguises, so maybe a restaurant owner will realise that he never gave a job to the icy-eyed, sinister-looking man standing in front of him, wearing a waiter outfit two sizes too small. This new system will ensure that the player doesn't get complacent, which fits brilliantly with the game's 'calculating killer' fantasy.
