Well, IO Interactive clearly noticed this and now no longer punishes players for approaching the situation however they please. Instead of penalizing you for not being a Silent Assassin and killing NPCs to get different disguises, they reward you for... being a brutal murderer.

Each kill - no matter who it's on - will score you points at the end of the mission, and your ranking will change to reflect this.

Now no longer do you need to adhere to the ICA's code of conduct if you don't fancy it, and you can still walk away with a bevy of bodies AND a hefty chunk of experience which will unlock new features on the level as well as new outfits and even entry points.

Everyone makes mistakes, but in IO Interactive's eyes, these "mishaps" are all part of the greater picture, plus because you're being rewarded instead of admonished, it encourages you to return to levels and play in different ways.
