2. Too Much Bloom
Lighting bloom can often be an effective way for developers to give their games a far more cinematic feel, as the effect essentially replicates how the game would look if it were shot with movie cameras, with light flooding in from sources and glinting off of the screen. However, in Absolution, the art department has gone a little over the top, positively soaking the screen in bloom at basically every opportunity. Not only does this undermine the exceptional quality of the graphics, but it often proves obtrusive and distracting when you're trying to navigate this world. When visual flourishes get in the way of just playing the game, you know that they've gone too far.
